Member induction & care package

The Fitness Assessment & Member Care

Here at Abbs Cross Health & Fitness we believe our induction process is the best in the industry. Every member who signs up is offered a free Fitness Assessment and lifestyle evaluation. This consists of a 45-minute appointment with one of our fitness professionals. The appointment gives our instructors an overall picture of our client’s health and well-being. This gives every individual a starting point from which to monitor their progress throughout their membership. All results are entered into the computer programme. These results are then analysed and a report is produced detailing all aspects of the Fitness Assessment.

The assessment comprises of the following tests.

  • Health screening questionnaire
  • Height
  • Weight
  • BMI
  • Blood pressure
  • Resting heart rate
  • Bodyfat
  • Lung function
  • Muscular strength & Endurance
  • Flexibility
  • Aerobic capacity

The exercise programme

Following this assessment a short consultation with the client is undertaken to extract information from them to design a specific exercise program for them. This programme will ensure the client has the maximum potential to achieve their goals. The questions they maybe asked could include the following.

  • How many times would they like to visit the club each week?
  • How long would they like their exercise programme to last?
  • What are their main goals?
  • Do they have any injuries or medical conditions?
  • What do they like / dislike doing?
  • Would they like their programme to incorporate swimming and / or exercise classes?

The client is then booked in for a 1 to 1 session with the instructor ideally 1 or 2 days later. This next appointment can be up to 1 hour of personal attention. The instructor will ensure all heart rates, resistances, sets, repetitions and techniques are explained and implemented thus ensuring the clients are given the best possible guidance and instruction at the start of their exercise regime.

Free Follow up consultations

Our expert guidance and attention doesn’t finish here as every member is offered free follow up reassessments and programme reviews whenever they are required. This continual support and guidance ensures members are continually motivated and given progressive programmes to ensure maximum results and interest is maintained.
